Addison

We are only 10 days away from surgery. Please pray for our family's protection from illness over the next week, so surgery will not have to be postponed. We are trusting that God will take care of us because I do not want to isolate her and keep her out of activities during her last cast-free week of the year.

Addie was eligible to start school after her 3rd Birthday in the developmental preschool program at Megan's elementary school. She goes three mornings a week during the same timeframe that Megan is at school. She has done great and already knows most of the names in her class. The teacher said that Addie was calling her name on the 1st day and beckoning her to come here. Those of you that know her well are very familiar with this. Then today they told me that she went to the Friday Fanfare, which is the school assembly. I was cracking up. I was hesistant sending Megan to this big school thing at 5 years old and here Addie is going at 3.

Happy Birthday, Addie. You have come a long way baby and our journey has still just begun. We celebrated her birthday by spending a day at the Orr Family Farm and then had a family party. She loves life and loves being with her family.

Home Church

We stayed home sick a few weeks ago on Sunday morning, so we decided to have a little home church. Megan thought this was so cool. She wanted all of us to dress up in our church clothes, but we didn't cooperate. She then led our Bible Study by reading her Creation devotional. Our 10 minute devo turned into almost an hour and she still didn't want to quit. She wanted to keep reading more and more lessons. Addie was just as restless and LOUD at home as she is at church. Megan scolded her several times. If you have never done this, give it a try sometime. It made Phillip and I realize how much she pays attention to every detail at church even when it doesn't seem like it while we are there.

Gymnastics

Megan loves her gymnastics class. She definitely has more flexability and strength than I ever had at her age; however, we wouldn't exactly call her "graceful." She was so excited when she finally landed a cartwheel at home.

Megan's 1st Day of Kindergarten

Megan started to Kindergarten in August. She was excited and nervous due to the newness of everything: friends, school, teacher, etc... She still isn't sure why they don't have chapel, which was one of her highlights of Sonshine School. There were tears shed by Megan and then Mommy that morning, but they were quickly gone and she was happy and content by the time I picked her up. Now, she tells us that she is friends with ALL OF THE GIRLS. She will talk to the boys, but they aren't her friends. Too funny - that this has begun.

I'm Back

Finally after several months, I am going to try to catch up with some of the things that we have done the last few months. We will just skip the whole summer of July 4th and lots of lake trips. We'll begin with Megan starting Kindergarten.

I do want to ask all of you to start checking the blog for Addison updates in November. She is finally going to have her hip surgery on Nov. 2nd, so we will need lots of prayers during that time.
