Holiday at the Lake

(For those of you that haven't visited Branson in awhile--you need to check out the Landing. It is very nice and very non-Bransonish. You actually see normal looking people here - not the usual Branson crowds of old men with black knee socks and white tennis shoes) 4th Annual Boat Parade.
I think that the Chamber of Commerce had hoped for a better showing, but there were only six participants this year due to the looming thunderstorm. They thanked us immensely for joining in on the fun. I think that we can win 1st place next year with just a few more decorations on our boat.

Every year, we spend the 4th at Table Rock Lake at G-Ma's house. Here are a few pictures of our week of fun. The city has their firework display over the lake, so everyone watches the show from their boats or the shore. We feel like you have to be on the water to get the whole experience. The lake show was actually our third firework display this year. We saw fireworks at the Quail Springs festival on Sunday night; a firework show at Branson Landing on Thursday night; and then the lake show on Friday night. If that wasn't enough, Megan shot off 100s of "smoke bombs" and other tanks, snakes.... throughout the week. There certainly is not any fear of booms or fire in our kids or our little nephew Jake. They all just watch in awe with giggles and squeals.

If you like blueberries there is an adorable little place to go pick not far from Table Rock Lake, it's called Persimmon Hill Berry Farm. Actually they have other stuff too, we just go for the blueberries! We came across it about 9 years ago and now make an annual trek every June. We've come to love Branson despite the typical crowd you mentioned! We didn't know about the Landing but will definitely check it out next time!
Looking forward to getting to know Megan at SSS!!!
